EV Journeys

Privacy Policy

EV Journeys is run by Mutant Soup Software. We built this project around a simple idea: your driving history is personal, and you should stay in control of it. This page explains, in everyday language, what we collect and what we do not.

The big picture

There are two related parts of EV Journeys:

  • This website — guides, articles, and free calculators (including at charging calculator). You can use most of it without telling us who you are.
  • Trip analyzer — an optional tool for people who already drive an EV and export a trip log from their car (today: Polestar).

We do not run a “upload your trips to our cloud” service. We do not sell your driving data.

This website — guides and calculators

What stays on your device

Our calculators run in your web browser. The numbers you enter (battery size, efficiency, charger type, and similar) are used to show results on your screen. We do not receive those inputs on our servers.

The charging calculator may remember a few preferences — for example, Quick vs Advanced mode — in your browser’s own storage so you do not have to reset them every visit. That information never leaves your device unless you clear your browser data.

What we may see when you visit

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs when you load a page: things such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, and the time. We use this only to keep the site running, spot abuse, and understand broad traffic patterns — not to build a profile of you as a driver.

What we do not do on this site

  • No account required to read guides or use calculators
  • No sale of personal information
  • No ad networks that track you across the web (on this marketing site)
  • No asking for your trip files on this site

Trip analyzer (optional, for owners)

If you open the trip analyzer (for example, the Polestar build), you may import a file exported from your car. Here is what matters for privacy:

  • Your trip file is processed on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers for storage or analysis.
  • Your trips stay in your browser until you delete them or clear site data. Use the backup feature in the trip analyzer if you want a copy on your computer.
  • Maps may download map images from a public map provider so you can see where trips occurred. Those requests describe the map area on screen — not a copy of your trip file.

Each supported car uses its own web address and browser storage. Data from one does not automatically appear in another.

Email and feedback

If you email us at evjourney@mutantsoup.com (for example, to request a guide topic or a new car brand), we receive whatever you choose to write. We use it to respond and improve the site. Do not send trip log files unless we explicitly ask for a sample to debug a format — and never send files you are uncomfortable sharing.

Product links

Some pages recommend gear (chargers, accessories, and the like). Some links on those pages are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy — at no extra cost to you. Recommendations are editorial. We do not use your trip data to personalize product picks.

Children

EV Journeys is written for adults making vehicle decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site grows (new tools, new brands, optional paid features). We will change the “Last updated” date at the top when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
